1. Balance
Balance is money in your account, in the currency of your region. It can only offset payment on later orders; it cannot be withdrawn and does not expire. When an account is deleted its balance is forfeited.
2. Invitations
An invitation follows the project, not one kit. A customer who has bought any kit of a project can get that project’s invitation link on the order’s page; a new version of the same project (for example v2) uses the same link. An invitation works only through the link (it is never typed in), only between customers of the same region, and only for kits of that project; purchases from other projects do not count.
3. Invitation discount
A customer who arrives through an invitation link gets 5% off when they buy any kit of that project. The discount covers the components and services of the project’s kits, never shipping. It is taken before any balance is used and rounded down to the cent. The free-shipping threshold is checked on the amount before the discount.
While the invitation holds, every order of that project’s kits by the invited customer gets the discount. A customer who had already bought any kit of the project before clicking the link (the inviter included), or who is in a different region from the inviter, does not get it, and checkout says why.
4. Rebate
When an invited customer buys kits of the project through the link, the inviter earns 5% of the cash that customer actually paid for the products and services of the project’s kits. That is what the customer paid after the invitation discount and without any part paid with balance, excluding shipping and anything bought from another project, rounded down.
The rebate is added to balance once the order has been delivered for 7 days with nothing returned. Until then it shows as pending.
5. Refunds and rebates
When the invited customer is refunded, what is returned is what they actually paid; the invitation discount is not returned. The rebate is reversed in proportion to the cash refunded. If the balance is not enough, the shortfall is recorded as a debt that is offset against later rebates, and balance cannot be used until the debt is cleared.
6. Other
If all of the inviter’s orders of that project are fully refunded, the link stops working for new customers, but relationships already formed keep earning. We may adjust or cancel rebates and invitation discounts in case of abuse: [ABUSE CLAUSE, TO BE CONFIRMED BY A LAWYER].
